I think this was the first one-handed clip folder, a pioneer in the industry. It was quickly overshadowed by the Police, and ubiquitous Endura & Delica, but has a certain appeal to it. Verrry sharp point, interesting blade shape, and sharpened "false edge" on the very tip.

How come I never hear anyone talking about this model?

I have had one for years. It was my first Spydee and I still have and use it.
A COOL LITTLE KNIFE

Worker was my first Spyderco - purchased sometime in the mid-eighties. It was my daily carry for over 10 years; but the stainless steel handles were to slick/or the tension on the pocket clip loosened some what, and I worried about losing it. I then started carrying FRN hanled Spydercos, such as ProGrip; then finally a Native.

Worker is a fine knife, and is solely responsible for my acquiring a lot of tactical folders.

I've got a worker that originally belonged to a friend's stepfather, then he got it, then another friend of mine got it, then I got it. I think it was one of the first ones made, so I guess that would make it almost as old as I am. It has really been put through it's paces and the blade has been sharpened so many times that I think it's too think in the edge to sharpen anymore. I'm thinking about sending it to Spyderco to see if they can do any work on it, then give it back to my bud. That was the first brand name knife I ever handled.

I have had one for years, but have always "saved it back for later."
When ever I need to do surgery on a splinter or something, I get it out for that.
