Have a guy offering me a strider and the pivot area seems too thin visually however, I've not paid attention to the sng prior.

I can email photos over if anyone can check it over... I'd really appreciate it.

Let me know.

It's a stonewashed cpm-154 Lego sng

Pm me your email address if you can or shoot me an email, Ty Ty Ty!!!

Have him take a screw and nut out of the handle and send a pic. A real Strider will have knurling on the nut and most fakes will not.

If you're talking about where the lock bar is cut at the 90degree angle by the pivot, yes it's thin on a real SnG.

You can send some pics my way. I'm not claiming to be an expert that knows all things Strider, but I own a SnG and have handled/examined some of the Chinese fakes.

Where did he purchase it from? Check the paper trail. That's always a big help.

I am by no means an expert but I've owned 5 or 6 SnGs, a PT and 2 SMFs in the past. I'll be glad to take a look and give you my opinion if it will help.

When I was in a similar situation I contacted Strider Knives directly. They asked for pictures which I submitted and they confirmed it as a genuine Strider SNG.
