Looking for something similar to a Sebenza in terms of:
blade under 3"
not a flick open knife, but not a two hander like a SAK either.
Fairly thin, fairly light. I LOVE thin folders.

Its key that it has a smallish blade, and that it does not flick open. Any suggestions appreciated.

What do you mean, "flick open", auto or AO? You do want a one-hander?

Take a look at the Boker Trance, about 1/4" thick.

I want a one hander.. NON auto. And by "flick" open, I mean how most blades can be deployed quickly. Like most folders with a thumbstud, or hole. i.e. Benchmade's with Axis lock.

kershaw leek g-10 thin, decent sized blade, but it has the auto assist open which is rather nice...something to consider

emerson makes some fairly thin models hd7 with the frame lock or the snubby with wave take a look
hope that helps

Applejacks, almost every one-hander is going to flick, in that sense, unless you get one with an adjustable pivot and tighten it down.

Al Mar Ultralight series. They come in 3 sizes. Very light, very thin, and a bit stiff in the pivot so they won't "flick" open if you're concerned about legalities.

Check out the cold steel ultimate hunter. One hand opener but there is no way you could flick it without loosening it up a bit. A very solid knife with good grip and heft. The only problem is that it is a little wider than what you are looking for. A little over half an inch, but one of the most comfy grips i have ever felt.

Make sure you take a good look at the fantastic Rittergrips:

Spyderco Delica

Spyderco Dragonfly

Spyderco Kopa, but you'll need to look around for the Kopa which is right for you. They come in several different handle materials, because it's one of Spyderco's Gent's folders.

The Kiwi also a small "Gent's" folder, and like the Kopa, comes in a variety of handle materials. Check out some of the Kiwis on this page.

The Spyder hole allows for openings as quickly as you want them- from very slow to pretty darn quick. The blades come in a number of decent to great steals, and generally have some of the best edges out of the box. Spyderco's customer service is also supposed to be great, but luckily, I've never had to use it.

Indeed. But I was hoping there was something that was already kind of anti-flick... i.e. Sebenza.

Most lockbacks won't "flick" open. They have too much drag. Many can be opened and closed one handed.

Are you still looking for wood grain sides? I seem to remember you were at one time. Can't really help you if that is a requirement.

If you are no longer limited to wood sides, I think Al Mar makes some nice thin lockbacks in their Hawk line. You might look at those.

What about BM Opportunist? It has the very same S30V steel as Sebenza :)

It is fairly light and VERY thin, because it has no clip :)

Wood is no longer a must. I have considered Al Mar knives in the past... I think I will reconsider. Thanks for the reminder.

Also, good memory.
