HI, I just bought my first knife today and it's absolutly beautiful. It's a black SOG Tech Bowie, kinda wish they made it a tad bigger though. I was hopeing someone could suggest a really good knife sharpener or sharpening system they may make. Would a leather strap work, i don't plan on using it much, i just liked it enough to buy it and keep it in the truck glovebox. I'm going to order one of those becker 77's in the morning. I don't want to scratch the blade so any help would be appreciated. Thank You,

I just ordered a spyderco sharpmaker, I hope it's the right one. What does a barbers leather strap do for new unblemished blades? Wil it keep a rarely used blade like the Tech Bowie, razor sharp? thanks,
 
Stropping will indeed keep the edge sharp if you don't use it much. But if you don't use it much, why even bother buying something to sharpen it with? :confused:
