Any thoughts on a tough folder with 5 inch blade

Check out some of the Cold Steel offerings - they tend to go big along with strong more than other MFG's. 5" blades on folders are not too common. Cold Steel offers a few in that category or close to it.

The Spartan is 4.5"
The Espada Series is 3.5, 5.5 and 7.5"
The Rajah II is 6"

Yup, Cold Steel was the first mfg. I thought of reading the OP.

Megafolders used to be a regular item but now smaller hard-use seems to be the norm.

Too bad Camillus isn't around to make more CUDA Maxxes. If you're OK with the cost, Darryl Ralph has a forum here now at HTM Knives. Check out Extrema Ratio for another expensive brand.

Cold Steel, of course, including their Voyager and Vaquero series. SOG has a couple of 5" folders, the Pentagon Elite II and Spec-Elite II.

Thanks for the input guys and yes Esav, cost does have to be part of it. Maybe $200 max. I would be ecstatic with a Darrel Ralph. :D

A rajah 2 might fit the bill with a little modification.

I have a CS Gunsite with a 5" blade, but they don't make those anymore.

I have an informal "set" -- the Gunsite II and a 5" Voyager to with it. They look good together. :)

Grayman just came ot with a MASSIVE folder, the Satu, looks reeeaaaaalllly tough. Limited run though, I don't know if they're still available.

Not bad looking, not really massive actually. A bit expensive. Probably a good piece of equipment. I do like the design.

According to the website, still available.

Yeah, not really massive. A lot bigger folder than I'm use to though, so kinda massive for me.

Though not quite 5.0" blade, actually 4 5/8", the Ontario Hossom Retribution I is a very tough folder. Built like a brick sh*thouse with thick titanium liners (.100" thick), and a thicker blade at .200". Course it is a sheath carry only folder......unless you have the desire to turn it into a pocket clip folder, cause it is possible.:)

Just a stock photo.
