Any thoughts on Pro-Tech Knives?

Good stuff, I have a couple, the runt 2 and the godson. They are really good knives. I carry the godson alot inside the waist band, and it is really light and powerful. I have hear they are not microtechs as far as quality goes, but they are still steller knives!

I also think that protech has some good heat treatments. the performance is outstanding!

Every one that I have seen is real nice and real fast. Well made ! Kevin

They seem well made to me.

I have Ciabatta, Godson, Godfather, TR3, RUNT, and Magic knives from them. Snappy action in all.

The only let-down is the durability of some of the coatings/finishes Protech uses.

Many compare Protech to Microtech and that seems justifiable. My Microtechs do have more durable coatings/finishes in general.

But as far as reliability goes, it appears to me one has to go out of ones way to make a coil spring with plunger/button lock unreliable. The Ron Miller (I think he was the first to use this design - maybe) design is simplicity in structure.

I own a Magic and a TR2. Protech is a great company that makes great knives and Dave, the owner, is an outstanding person to do business with. Their customer service is outstanding, in fact he serrated my TR2 blade and it didn't cost me a dime extra.

real nice knives, good steel. they've always seem appealing to me. Never got one though..

Just got a new one from them at the show. Big blade prototype. Great quaility. I'll add more.

I have the TR-3 Tactical Response 3. Purchased it 6 years ago. Not my EDC but have used it quite a bit in that time. Very happy I got it. Hold it firm when you open it or you will be picking it up off the ground. Get the Pro Tech as they make a quality knife. IMO

I currently own a Harkins ATAC D/A (blue jazz, no I won't sell it to you), a Whiskers Allen Magic (blue jazz), a custom Ti Duke, and a custom Ti Godson. I used to also own a regular Godson and Godfather (blue jazz, the 4 came as a set).

They're all fantastic knives. Protech puts some serious snap into their autos, and they all come insanely sharp. Every person who collects autos should own at least one Godson/Godfather.
