Has anybody used the Buck Rush? It is a good looking knife, not too expensive and American made.
I want one but wanted to see if anybody has any feedback on it first. Thanks.

Nice little knives but too small for me. The ASAP assisted system is great. I prefer the Tempest only due to size. I got a purple Rush for my daughter off of the web specials last Christmas and its really solid. Came razor sharp(as usual) and I sliced myself good the 1st time I checked it out:o

I have a 290 and it was my EDC for a while when I had my odyssey rebladed, this was about 10 years back.
It is a great little knife that took everything I threw at it in a warehouse environment . The coilspring action is real nice
and the linerlock is jimped.
The little lock cam takes some getting used to, but is a necessary item for pocket carry !
All in all it is a solidly built good performer.
For ME, I found it wasn't the most comfortable in pocket and in hand. That's just me though!

I agree with Fritz, too small and the lock is a major pain even in the larger Tempest or Sirus. I gave one to a lady friend thinking the size would be right for her, but she called the lock a nail breaker and didn't like it.

Hi Trey999,
Welcome to the Buck forum!
In a knife size is a relative issue, some like small pocket type knives and some like a larger knife. If you are one of the small knife guys don't let the size negative talk shy you away form this little Buck knife. As stated the ASAP system in the Buck Rush is super. The liner lock on my knife has never been an issue for me, your mileage may vary!

I have been carrying an ASAP knife as my main pocket EDC for years. I never leave home with out my Tempest (like many I'm just not a small knife guy).
Here is MR. Buck signing my Tempest at BPS last year

I have a Rush and a Tempest. Both work very well but the size puts the Tempest in my pocket. The Tempest I got used and the lock is broken in and opens a lot easier than the Rush.

I have a Rush and a couple of Sirius knives. Don't have the Tempest.

I carried the Rush for several weeks. It's a lot more "carry-able" than the Sirius. Sirius is a hefty chunk.

It's a handy little knife, with an energetic snap. My hands are medium, and I am able to get a decent grip on it, though with arthritis messing with closing my last two fingers, the tapered handle requires a creative grip. I don't care much for the jimping on the liner lock, but YMMV.

If you're doing lots of boxes or packages, it's a fine tool. If you use your pocket knife for fruits and veggies, you'll find the thick-ish blade a bit awkward for large apples and the like, but the point and fine edge does an excellent job on bell peppers. I find a thinner, slightly longer blade works better in kitchen-type applications.

As a general purpose cut-things-that-need-cuttin' knife, it's certainly up to the task.

One of the girls that used to work a knife counter at Tri-State (sporting goods) up here wound up having to use hers to field dress a deer (left her main knife in the truck). She said it worked just fine.

I don't carry mine much any more, now that I have a Vantage and a Paradigm. The longer blade addresses more kinds of work, and the bigger handle suits my hands better. And, honestly, I even carry my 301 more than the Rush.

It's a good knife and does a good job of the things for which it is suited. It happens that there are other Buck products that suit my needs even better, so my Rush spends most of its time "on the bench" rather than in the game.

If you have the money and like the ASAP of the Rush, I'd recommend the Paradigm. Neat locking mechanism eliminates the need for the ergonomically unfriendly cam-lock on the Rush, and the Paradigm's mechanism serves double duty locking the knife shut when closed as well as locking the knife open. It's a pretty good looker too, essentially the same form factor as a Vantage.
