I've been looking at traditional blades for a bit and I'm a little intrigued by this one.

Blade Steel 19C27 Sandvik specialty steel (Rockwell 60-63)... anybody have any experience with this steel or any opinions about it?
The veeeeerrry little that I know about knives would lead me to believe that 60-63 is a bit too hard for a knife like this. More likely to chip the edge than to roll it... correct?
Slicer or is it the hard work knife that it looks like?
Stick it in a safe or do some serious bush craft with it?
Speculations/thoughts (by those with a clue) on this knife would be appreciated.

From the photo that looks like 9 1/4" TOTAL length. Then it wouldn't be a chopper in fact they shouldn't call it a bowie in my opinion. Then the hardness wouldn't be a problem.

I thought long and hard about picking up one of these Bowies to put up. Then I ran across the Canal Street D'Holder Drop Point Hunter at Smoky Mountain Knife Works for about half the price. So I grabbed one of those instead.

19C27 is Sandvik Steel's most wear resistant grade. Its recommended hardness range is 55-63 HRC.
