kind of interested in Neckers and backup blades recently.
Purchased an Izula, liked it, but never really used it since its a backup blade.

the feel of the knife is great, but i have my eyes on the Prof. Soldier.
can anyone share some thoughts or pic of this knife? have not seen any discussions on it.

Thanks in advance.

Ken

I did a review on the CRK Professional Soldier awhile back and I will post the link here and some others for you to read. I personally think its an awsome little knife. I have EDC'ed it for awhile off and on and I loved it. It kinda reminds me of a fixed blade sebenza without a handle slab. The sheath is great as well. I think it would make a great neck knife for those looking for one. Enjoy The Review !!!

good review i loved it, i too have been interested in the professional soldier for some time, i am looking at that vs izula, i really like the professional soldier a lot more but it costs 3 times as much. Is there anyone selling it cheaply say around 100 dollars?

great review. really appreciated!!
its a shame that not a lot of people have this knife, maybe its the size.
I am 5"11 about 185 pounds. For me, the izula carries well. I like the size of PS but it will be hard to carry that as a neck knife, which i prefer. Now i am confused... should i buy one to carry on my backside? as a part of my collection? or i should consider other sebbies as my backup?

I carry mine sheathed of course in my right front pocket. It has never bothered me sitting down, bending over, etc. Its a great knife. CRK price fixes their knives, so all dealers sell the PS for $185.00. If you look on the exchange here or on ebay, you can get them cheaper. Its just a waiting game and when you see one, you gotta pounce on it. I got mine for $125 buy it now on ebay. It was new never used, but did not have paperwork which did not bother me. And it was indeed new, never used.

I am glad you liked the review, it was my first. I also added it to my CRK Timeline Sticky at the top of CRK forum. Check it out as I have a Time Line of nearly all CRK made.

Thanks Rick, I am glad you enjoyed it, its greatly appreciated. I will have to do reviews on some of my other CRK.

It looks Really slick -if only I could fine one in my area to see how it feels in the hand..

I have both. The sheath fits further up the handle than the Izula, so you cannot wrap the whole handle like you can with an Izula. The sheath is also thinner (i like it way better than the stock sheath that comes with the Izula) and even though the PS is longer than the Izula, the length of the two inside their sheath is almost the exact same. Thus, as a neck knife, the two fits about the same, but you get a bigger knife with the PS. I may look for an aftermarket sheath for the Izula, but for now I EDC the PS.

I don't mean to hijack anything, and this seems to fit in:

I would like to see a fixed blade Sebenza with Bark-River-level of selection in scale material/color choices.

For example, some green and black canvas micarta would be very nice in particlar if the blade was satin.

This forum suggested the PS as a possibility since a fixed blade Sebenza does not exist.

Has any one seen scales for the PS? Who makes them if anyone?

If they are avilable i would get a PS and EDC it.

If you wanna a fixed blade sebenza look-a-like, check out the CRK Nyala coming out soon.

I was also going to mention the Nyala. The pics from Shot are really nice. You can also make your own micarta scales - there's a bunch of posts on this site that show you how.
