Gerber Nautilus
Kershaw National Geographic Carabiner Tool
Kershaw National Geographic Jeeva Mini Carabiner Tool

Reviews? General Impressions? Valiant try, but cheap crap?
Other odd tool recommendations?

I'm leaning towards the one of the kershaw's. i cannot get
over the idea of just attaching / snapping it to a belt loop.
i really just need a blade & a flat head screw driver, anything else is gravy.

Look at a Victorinox Waiter.

Maybe I'm old fashioned but neither the Gerber or the Kershaws appeal to me. I just like a simple knife or multitool.

show me a goodway to attach it to a belt loop & we are in business,
i suppose justa Carabiner with a smaller key chain ring on it, then attach the
knife to the small keychain size ring.

I've too much bulky junk in my pockets already
sharp zaurus 5500
wallet (front left pocket)
20 key's
flip phone

all that junk digs into my leg, thats the real problem i'm trying to solve.

i was also considering the Swiss-Tech Utili-Key SS.

thanks fo the advice!

I had a chance to play with the Kershaw Carabiner and I didn't like it. No good way to grip it without it feeling awkward. The choice of tools was OK but I don't see any practical use for it that can't be done with a SAK.

Chuckehead ,

I have had one of these for several months now , like you the the idea of clipping it to my belt loop on my trousers appealed to me . It can be drawn off with one hand , the knife blade can be opened with one hand but unless you thread back on the " nut " of the swivel arm that will depress making holding the caribiner which now forms the handle of the knife uncomfortable .Taking just a moment to spin the nut partially into the locking position so that the swivel arm is stable will take care of that . Not the ultimate in multitools but I have found it handy myself if just the functions that it provides is all that is needed .

Chucklehead,

If you are looking for carabiners and snaps, Berkeley Point has some items that might work. I have been thinking about ordering some stuff from them, but shipping is $5.35, so I would have to buy a lot to make it worthwhile.

I own a Carbiner Tool. The bad thing (for me) is that the blade is half serrated. :grumpy:

But the cool thing is that you can open the blade just with a twitch of your wrist, no need to use your thumb or something. :D

Personally I need more tools for my EDC (like LM).

The small SAK ring can fit in a small non-climbing carabiner, I prefer to tie a lanyard on the ring and attach the lanyard to a biner, to use I leave the biner on the belt and take off the knife and lanyard, sometimes when I dress light, I carry a Vic Waiter on a neck lanyard (referee whistle kind) under my shirt.

And of course there are the good old boy scout knives with a shackle to hang on or tie a lanyard.
