Any thoughts on where to get a gunsite II in Canada?

I had a gunsite II until Saturday, when I discovered my SUV had been broken into and all contents removed. Parked in a well lit downtown parkade, as I have done many times before, but this time returned to half a dozen vehicles had smashed windows (and two still had alarms going off).

I had mine for over a decade... I think, at least long enough I can't remember exactly when I got it. I know there are similar replacement options in the voyager and recon lines, but I would really prefer to get the same model if I could. I like the handle shape and feel, I like the blade details. I know its been discontinued for a few years but I don't know why it was discontinued and never had any concerns about mine and like pretty much everything about it. AUS 8A is fine, but I want the VG1 mostly because it is what I had.

My goggling has failed me. I certainly can't find any online retailer with old stock. Looking on the bay, I saw only one for sale yesterday and that one wouldn't ship to Canada.

Any thoughts on how I could replace it?

I'm really sad for you :/

Thanks. You're really sad for me and you have one that you want to get rid of?

I spent some more time searching online last night and I've gone through the for sale forum here looking for old unsold ones, even contacted sellers when I thought I might have a lead. No luck yet.

Since it's a discontinued model, your only real option is just to keep checking Ebay and the Exchange here and hope one turns up.

I'm checking both the exchange and ebay daily (well, I have an ebay alert). I also posted a Want-To-Buy thread in the exchange. Starting to think I might not have any success in my search.

That's the hard part about trying to buy discontinued stuff(not just knives, either), it can be a real pain to find. You just gotta stick with it, eventually one will probably turn up.

Unless they got them in today.... Warriors and wonders don't have long discontinued Gunsites....

Sorry, you are correct. I had them confused with the old model Voyager that they still carry. Gunsite, man, now that's riding the way back machine. Aren't they basically the same knife ?

Gunsite and Voyager models are similar, but not quite the same. I don't know that the differences are practically anything but esthetic (blade profiling, jimping, slightly thicker and wider blade in a 4" length), but there are differences that matter to me. Long ago I thought that they were 'premium' voyagers, but I'm not sure if that's accurate. Gunsites were made till at least 2010, so not that far way back.

Knifenutty has been helpful in my search and over the weekend I was able to determine that I had a late 2005/early 2006 model - thinner zytel body with the black stainless clip with VG-1. They switched from AUS8A to VG1 for a couple years then back to AUS8A. Again, I don't know that it matters all that much for my intents and purposes which steel I have, but I know for certain that mine was marked VG-1 and I'm going to try to find the same or similar vintage.

You can see the small changes made for the Gunsite Edition to the blade and handle...
I found that once I held one, the regular voyagers were put away in a box..

Is the gun site II the plastic clip or metal? I purchased a metal clip version from a local pawn shop not long ago. I know for a fact they have a plastic clip version in their display case right now.

I can't recall off the top og my head which one the 2 is (standard or XL). But I have a Gunsite XL I'd be willing to part with. I'll shoot you a message about it.
