any tips on making sheaths and or shaping leather

I was hoping for some advice on making a knife sheath. I don't usually make them but I got roped into one... or maybe I roped my self... lol. The case is for a fixed handle hunting knife I made for a hunter this fall. The knife in the thumbnail below actually. I have an Idea what I'm going to do but I'm no expert, and any advice is more then welcome. sorry about the washed out pic. I should have shut the flash off.
