Any update on 0550 accessory scales and other hardware availability?

Last update from Hinderer was "coming soon" in like August or September I think....he also said that new stand offs would be "coming soon" as well. Would really like to buy some of these accessories for my 2 0550's.

Any chance Kershaw can take this over and get it out themselves instead of relying on the Hinderer? His shop is way over burdened as it is just producing his own stuff, much less ZT customers.
 
If by "accessory scales" you mean after-market scales, other people make them. I just posted mine that Rival1314 made for me.
I can't help with the standoffs.

Other people make them with the Hinderer patten? If so, I've not seen it.

Again, Hinderer posted that these were "coming soon."
 
I have come to realize the word "soon" from any knife manufacturer actually means "eventually".

It took me over 6 months to hunt down an original Orange Hinderer scale for my 0550, good luck to you!

Not that I'm particularly interested in dealing with Rick based on past experience, but I was actually hoping to hear from ZT on this and was rather hoping they'd take take over the production of these scales and other accessory items.
 
Well since it is not their project why would they have any input? As far as KAI taking over I would bet my entire collection that will never happen.

It's a ZT knife. ZT is perfectly within their rights to make accessory scales for their own knife. Perhaps if other ZT owners expressed interest, KAI/ZT might take action.

You dont know what kind of agreement there is between Rick and KAI to just assume that KAI can do whatever they want is absurd. Im guessing KAI has more pressing issues than making dress up items for knives they already produced. Never understood why the first thing people do is buy a knife then start changing stuff but to each their own.
Just my thoughts not bashing anyone do what you want the pimp jobs look great just not for me

Not that I'm assuming anything...just rather hoping as I've expressed. However, you seem to be making the opposite assuming, which would make your statement absurd.

Seen elsewhere............ZT will not be making any "accessory scales" to dress up their knives.

I find it funny also that you seem to think Hinderer is "overburdened" but ZT seems to not have anything going on of there own at all? :rolleyes:
 
KAI folks are way too busy already so they won't be making any aftermarket add ons for ever probably.
