Any user advantage w/ 3 finger over fullsize handle on EDC?

I have been collecting approximately 3 inch fixed blades for hiking/bushcraft type use and I find myself having to custom order longer (4") handles than what is usually offered for small EDCs. Is there any functional advantage aside from more compact carry, to the smaller handles?

Full size handles work better for me for extended use. A three finger handle is fine for a pocket fixed blade that's only going to have to tackle relatively short cutting chores.

A full size handle also allows stronger cuts.

IMHO, the only advantage of short handles is reducing the overall size of the knife.
