Any value in "junk" outboard engines?

A neighboor as 3 or 4 "junk" outboards, all under 4hp I think, all vintage, all probably not currently in running condiiton.

Any value there?
 
Before you scrap them,check out what they are and see if parts for them are selling on ebay,people are restoring just about anything these days and parts for some of these old engines are getting hard to find.You can also check here,www.smokstak.com it's a whole forum of engine heads,yea I spend some time there also.There's a regular outboard forum at the Stak.
 
there is an outboard motor museum here in ohio i do believe. maybe they will buy them for spare parts. it might be worth doing some research.

Yes they could be valuable, especially if they are 5 HP and under. Either to restore or for parts.
 
If all else fails, simply attach a long length of rope and you've got an interesting looking anchor...ship ahoy
