Any "Vines" love out there?

Last year for my birthday, my wonderful girlfriend wanted to get me a Sebenza. She asked me which one I wanted, and I just told her to pick one that she thought was appealing. She selected a Small Regular Vines. I don't see these hardly ever, so I thought I'd share some pix.

Let me know what you guys think. Of course, this has sentimental value to me (on top of the fact that it's a Sebbie), but I'm wondering if any of you would select this model for yourself. And be honest. I like it, but, honestly, I only carry it on special occasions and when the girlfriend and I go for a nice dinner out (it's kinda like man-jewelry; know what I mean?).

Cheers,

Derek . . .

Thanks, crakerjax. I never see them for sale anymore. But if I spot one, I'll give ya' a heads-up. . . .

Thanks, safetyman. At first, I thought it was a bit feminine. But it has grown on me. Plus, it goes with my Ibanez JEM 777:

Well, it was my girlfriend who picked it out. Maybe she was hoping I would let her keep it. Yeah, right! LOL!

I had a small vines for awhile. I traded it and a bocote mnandi for a mint XM-18 a few months ago. It was a really nice knife, but I am more into large sebenzas than small. But there are several small sebbies I wish I still had.

those Jem's are NICE I miss my old mid 80's RG, had the ultra thin wizard neck....and me being young and was in a Slayer cover band ran 10-52 strings and one day the neck just snapped like a twig right at the lockers. I even kept it tuned down 2 steps...had 2 Emg 81's and an Emg single in the middle. Nice vine inlay.

It's the first I've heard or seen of the vines version. I like it. It is a bit on the feminine side, but not so far as to make us question your man card. :D I wouldn't mind owning one. :)

There are still some available New on some of the CRK dealer sites for those interested !!!

Yeah - I have been a big Ibanez fan for a long time, and I have owned most every model that they have produced. Hard to pick a favorite, but the RG Prestige models saw the most action. I don't play much anymore now that I'm doing the lawyer thing. In fact, the only Ibanez guitars I still have are the JEM, a RGA121NTF Prestige fixed bridge (dropped one full step w/ 9-46 guage strings), and a RG1527 7-String Prestige (9-54 strings):

BTW, I just saw Slayer w/ Megadeth in St. Paul, Minn. last month. I drove the 12 hours from Michigan for free tickets and a paid-for room -- all I had to pay for was gas and beer! And it was certainly worth it -- Slayer kicks your ass! MegaDave was in peak form too.

That gal's a keeper, derek! I love the vines sebenza.:thumbup:

It's a regular though, and not a classic.

Oops - you're correct - just changed that. I don't know why I keep thinking it's a classic.

And yes, the GF is a keeper!
