I recently got a Watu and absolutely love it. It’s a Taichung model so the fit & finish is top notch, as expected. The 20CV blade is the sharpest thing this side of a surgeon’s scalpel.

The design can be a little polarizing, but it feels great in the hand. Plus, the unique design makes it stand out.

I just wanted to pass this along since I never see it talked about. If you don’t have one, you’re definitely missing out.

I am a big fan as well. The blade is like a laser beam! I also really like the walnut scales I got for it from Trifect Custom Shop:

Bought one to pair w/my Chokwe in order to keep my Spydercho Ethnic knife sub-collection up to date. Will buy the Pattadese for the same reason when it's released to pair w/my Pattada.

I don't have any strong feelings about it either way. It's ok. Between the two, I prefer the Chokwe, mainly because I prefer knives w/longer blades. The same will apply as between the Pattada and Pattadese.

Also, FWIW, as between the Chowke/Watu and Pattada/Pattadese, I prefer the Pattada combo better simply because I like the styling/feel of the Pattada better.

There are a number of aftermarket scales for the model. I have several of the Koa versions. Don't know if it's permitted? but there is a lot of discussion on the Spyderco forum.

S30V (whoops, wine) is what kept me away from its big brother. Otherwise, I dig it. Great scales on yours.
