Any way to dissolve Lok Tite?

Well I did what I've done on several other knives with no problems. My mini-griptilian had a tendency to develop blade play due to the pivot screw loosening after several opening/closings. So, I put some of the removeable "red bottle" Lok Tite on the threads and screwed it to the desired tension. Well, some of it must have gotten into the joint, because now the action is stiff as a board. Any suggestions?

Thanks!

Jim

Heat up the screw with the tip of a soldering iron until it will break loose.

Me, I'd just oil it, work the blade open and closed a few dozen repetitions, - repeat.

You could also use nail polish remover - dribble a bit in the joint, work it as above, etc. Nail polish remover - acetone or hexane, I think - should remove it.

most thread lockers are cyanoacrylate based (crazy glue). Those come apart with ketones. Acetone should work if you can get it down in the threads.

I'll second the heat, although with the red,I don't know if you can get it hot enough with a soldering iron, probably should use the blue.

It's the blue, but comes in the red container. Non permanent. I wouldn't dream of putting that red stuff in my knife.

Thanks!
