I really like the look of a stone washed titanium scale, and would like my Spyderco Leafstorm to have it. Is there any way to do it at home?. I'm not afraid of a little elbow grease!

thanks,
Bill

You need a tumbler and some media to get the finish that you are looking for.

Make sure to tape off the important parts of the scale so you don't damage the scale.

get a pot with a lid, fill with rocks and some water or oil, add knife blade and shake!

Just kidding, but why not try it on a cheap blade anyways. I might.

What do I use for media? I'm guessing smooth stones of about marble size. That is if stonewashing literally involves stones. I figure I will test on my ti watch band, as the outside of it has naturally taken on the finish over 6 years of use. In the meantime I will wipe the Hinderer XM-18 drool of my key board!
