Any way to tell if this Specwar is legit?

I picked this up several years ago, and it was advertised as a Timberline Specwar without the sheathe. It came with a cheap, and crappy nylon sheathe. Is there anyway to tell if this is a legitimate Specwar? It obviously doesn't have the sheathe, has some kind of phosphate finish, a chisel grind, and a metal pommel. That's really all I know about it. Before I get a custom sheathe made it would be nice to at least attempt to find out if it's worth it. I only paid about a $100 for it, so it wouldn't be a huge loss if it was junk. Thanks!
