I just got a T1 and love it except the detent is a little strong. Is there any way to weaken it a small amount? Or do I just get used to it? My comparison is a 940 which flicks open when I look at it.

My T1 (which I absolutely love) had a fairly stiff detent as well. But Ive carried it a bunch and flicked it a bunch and it has smoothed out like butter. Still stout but not as stiff as it started. I think its a small mix of me getting used to it and some minor break in. I would say fidget with it in the coming days and weeks and I suspect it will feel great pretty quick.
