Some of you may know, I lived on NO for about 7 years, from 95-2002.
I've been watching the coverage, and it's as bad as expected. I have heard from 3 friends, all of whom oare out now, and Chalmette is under about 8 feet of water. Uptown is a lake, and the quarter buildings are falling down spontaneously. I haven't heard from my son's mother (we don't get along) and I don't know if my son is Ok. West End is apparently under about 20 feet, and UNO is up to the 2nd floor with water. It will be without power for 6-8 weeks, easy, and will be uninhabitable for about 3-6 months, and rebuilding will probably take close to ten years. Unbelieveable.
