Been looking forward to this blade since I heard about it. A must-have for me for sure. Anyone heard any rumblings about a release date?

Non paid dealer link removed

This website is listing it as "august 2017."

My guess is that they're fairly close, but probably September or October rather than August... Time will tell.

Thanks, guys, sound like they aren't far off now!

FYI Sliverax is up for sale on one site. I believe forum rules don't let me name the site or link to it, but it's a certain Illinois based retailer that may or may not have a "G" and a "P" in the name.

GP Knives are a paid dealer so you can mention them in a thread. The Silverax is in stock on there site.

Thanks, just ordered one from them! Can't wait to check this one out!

Snapped one up from GPKnives as soon as I saw they were available, looks like I guessed correctly that they would sell out fast. Really eager to see how this one turns out, never handled a compression lock flipper before. Should be here Thursday.

I watched it appear and disappear from stock at both Knifecenter and Knifeworks today. Currently in stock at BladeHQ. (Pretty sure it's alright to name those as they're all paid dealers.)

I've been looking forward to this knife since it was unveiled and even though the price is more than I was hoping it'd be I went ahead and ordered one. I've got lots of Spyderco knives but never a flipper so I'm excited to give it a shot.

As popular as this model seems to be, is it too early to start thinking about a sprint run? CTS-XHP and OD green? M390 and blue G10? M4? Fingers crossed.

My Sliverax just arrived. Thoughts:
  • It flips like a Spyderco - not well. It can flip open properly if you wind up, but you gotta think about it. It might break in with use, or with pivot adjustments
  • You can close it without the flipper tab hitting your finger. The compression lock tab is long enough that you can press it at the bottom and have enough clearance for the flipper tab to close all the way
  • Having your finger slide into the compression lock when flipping doesn't seem to be an issue - everything around the compression lock tab is chamfered nicely
  • Ergos are.. odd? It doesn't have a finger choil so my hand is pretty far back on the handle, which means my thumb sits on the compression lock tab. Not super comfy
  • (Added) The lock release tab seems to be stiffer than on other compression lock knives I've tried before. It's leaving an indentation on my finger when unlocking the knife. I don't have a PM2 anymore but I don't remember it being as stiff
It's probably a catch and release for me.

The designer had mentioned on the Spyderco forums that he'd love a sprint with M4 and natural mircata if I recall correctly. Something that will patina and age like that would be quite different that highly stainless steel with carbon fiber in the production model.
