Just wondering. Been wanting a 710 in D2 for several months and see out of stock everywhere. Anyone have any insight as to when they may come back? Didn't mind the wait at first but am getting itchy :)

I've been going back and forth between the 710 and the 940 (D2 vs. S30V). I asked for opinions between D2 and S30V, and the consensus seemed to be the S30V for holding a sharp edge. Curious about your selection - why D2? I may flip-flop again.

And Grand Prairie happens to be a top notch dealer, too.
And they just sent me a 710D2, by strange coincidence :)

My first Axis Lock. What a very nice knife! And an EXCELLENT value for what GP Knives charges.

I just picked up one from a place called moontrail.com, for $114 shipped . thought that was a very good price. love the knife, well made, great feeling, g-10 is really nice fror scales, and it's extremely sharp out of the box, I'll have to wait awhile to see how long the edge last's, but I'm satisfied for now.:D

Definitely a great knife, a classic.
It is really a terrific piece of American toolmaking.

Not so much the D2, though I love my Stryker in D2, it's the 710 I've been hankering for, and I think the D2 is the only option that I see for it currently, may be wrong but that's what I see from the BM site. Seems to me these steels all have really gotten great over the years, and would be happy with most most as all my knives have a pretty wide variety, and feel the newer ones are just great in general. My 943 in S30V I find great as well, it's the size and shape I'm after, think it will be a perfect EDC like my old AFCK as recommended by many when I first wanted to get a replacement for the AFCK. The 943 seems more gentlemenly and ends up in slacks vs denim for me.

Thanks jfindon on the link...great price. Will order in morn once I cancel my backorder from somewhere else as they don't know the time frame (been 1.5 months).

No problem. I hope I get one before they think about discontinuing it, I hate being a college student with no job right now. I have the money but also need a new weight bench so that will have to come before the knife I'm afraid :(
