I hate to be a pest. Well, hate is a strong word. Anyway, any word on the Chinooks shipping? I am low on funds but, I will go without food in order to get at least one.

Gee..maybe you'll go on a starvation diet,,The GUNTING is coming out as well..soo don't feel obligated to get JUST a Chinook.. BUY BOTH..
ROFL!!!
besides who needs food?

Since the Chinook blade has a bit of belly to it, it should be good for both slicing the bagel and spreading the cream cheese.

As of yesterday, at least, Spyderco had given it SKU numbers (C63P and C63PS) and a retail price ($160, minus a few pennies), and was entering orders in their computer.

The Gunting, among other new stuff, still did not have SKU numbers.

Progress! I may yet be a happy camper!

Have no fear, BRAM! I will have at least one Gunting! Chinook was rumored to be released first so, I have to get it first.

James, how do you think the Gunting would perform on the average deli fare?

Well, the blade length under 3" is ideal for bagels, since it's longer than the radius and shorter than the diameter, so the point won't find the palm of your other hand when you make the circular cut. The one with the red handle and no point is obviously for spreading the cream cheese. Division of labor there.
