Last I heard was end of April for ship date. Nothing on the BCCI website and now that we are approaching two weeks into May thought I'd see if anyone has heard anything?

I just learned that the BCCI Brahma 106s should be shipped to the club by next week. They will be shipped to our club purchasers shortly thereafter. Thanks for your patience during the short delay.

I'm gathering sticks of various shapes and sizes in preparation. I plan to use it but I know if I don't take it out of the box and chop something right away I risk saving it for nice.

I'm curious what others have planned. Is it for show or for go?

Update? Was hoping to have mine by now especially since they appear to have made it to Blade last week.

106s have been shipped and you should have it today 6-9 or tomorrow 6-10 . tried to ship them quickly as i received them on the 7th of June

I recieved 31 just before the blade show so took them to the show to pass out. received the rest on June 7 and shipped that day and the next.I guess I need to get on here more . I post most of my updates on the BCCI/The Buck Collectors Club face book page

Roger, thanks. I think that's why I didn't go for one. As it's a meat cleaver or meat hatchet. Not weighing enough for heavier camp chores. DM

I've had a Buck Camp Axe for a long time. It has a High-impact plastic handle. It weighs even less, 17 1/5 ounces.

It's not my first choice for camp chores either, but I think it's that I prefer wood (and hopefully leather) to absorb shock.

What is the weight of the Brahma? DM

I weighed a few before they went out. they were between 17 and 18oz.

David, the standard Compadre version is listed at 23.4oz. I don't expect the leather handled Brahma version to be too much different. /Roger

The big difference in weight is the steel thickness. The Brahma Axe is finished out at .175" vs the Compadre finishing out at .230"

My Brahma axe arrived in St Louis today, others should be receiving theirs now.......

Mine arrived in PA today and it's really nice. I think it will do just fine. It's top heavy and overall weight feels good. It's slightly canted forward. It will chop.
