I have heard that some bladesmiths say this steel can be forged. Has anybody given it a try? If so, what were your experiences?

Crucible's hot isostatic pressing process gives 100% compaction in the solid state. That is a complete forging process. With a material as fine grained as the CPMs, I don't see what is to be gained other than personal satisfaction. How do you improve on 100% compaction?

This could could be 100% correct, but if it is forgeable this is a theory that could be put to the test. Maybe it can't be improved upon, maybe it can. In fact, this might be a good way to find out if forging can improve performance in a steel that in theory it should not be able to improve.

I am not trying to start a forged versus stock removal topic here and do not wish to offend anyone. All I am interested in is whether anyone has had success forging 3V and if so what they thought of the results.
