Spyderco showed a new LUM fixed blade tanto with an up swept point at the shot show this year. Does anyone have any information concerning this knife? Will Spyderco make a limited number of this knife?
I sure would love to have one.

I was fortunate enough get the chance to play w/ one at the last NYC show in November- it's a beauty! I think Sal had said something tentative in another thread about the 2nd half of this year. I could be wrong- Sal is on the road & I guess he'll have to confirm when he gets back- unless it's a hush-hush project...

Hi Bimmerl. As rugger mentioned, Production is planned for late Summer early Fall.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully, we will get to see the knife in the Summer or Fall.

Is it going to look anything like this?

If so, very exciting! Especially out of VG-10! I've alsways wanted a Lum tanto, even though I am not a real "tanto" fan.

Hello Sal: Do you have a MSRP yet?
Thanks-
Mike

I know that I am going to have to purchase two or three of those when they are available.

As far as I remember, the blade length on the Lum is right at 4 1/2". (give or take a half inch). I was hoping it would top out at under 4". Not my ideal length, just the rules here in NYC for carry. (But heck, I may be moving soon so who cares!)

From what I have seen LUM makes a small version and a larger version of this tanto. I'm not sure which blade length Spyderco plans to produce.
Either model is fine with me. I just want to get a couple of them. Don't you hate waiting for new knives to become available?
