Has good specs and with their up and coming reputation, I wonder if it will be a direct competitior with the Strider SNG and SMF? It is supposed to be out this June. Anyone get to handle it? I think this knife looks very promising. I'm really feeling the design.

Nice looking slicer that is, don't know a thing about it sorry.

Nice, really looks different.

Are my eyes funny, or is the grind funny on it, or something else?

Looks more like an Extrema Ratio than a Strider. That handle was carefully designed to cut into your palm in a strong grip. :)

I'd suggest a little less sculpting, and a lot more edge-rounding. It looks uncomfortable for both gripping and carry.

If edge-length is to be sacrificed by the vacancy at the rear of the edge, why not finish it off with a forefinger-choil for a functional ergo feature?

What's with the large thumbstuds positioned way foreward of the pivot?

This folder looks like a 'commitee'-designed creation.

That one doesn't look like the one he had on his website. Let me see if it's still there.

edit: nope, the other picture is gone but IIRC it looked to have a blade more shaped like a Strider AR. Did anyone copy the other pic when it was up?

The handle looks very uncomfy to me. And why is the thumb stud so far away? The handle looks like it needs to be rounded off, as those edges on the bevels DO looks kinda sharp to me.

Why are you spouting a sales pitch?

Rat, I just checked out his past posts. He has a very ... enthusiastic ... way of expressing himself, that's all. And he likes strong, heavy blades (Swamp Rat, Busse, etc.)

Having said that ...

combatready, how about the apparent problems with the design, though? We can believe Trident has learned how to make a solid, reliable knife. But that handle looks more like hype than ergonomics. Have you held one of them?

yes ive held more than one i own quite a few of there knives and they feel great in any grip positon.. sorry did not mean to rant in the last post but they really are that good.

What about that folder, though? Have you held that? I can't see those edges and sculpting being real comfortable in hard use.

I think you should be hired as a spokesman for Cold Steel ;) (j/k)

I am sure the knife is tough, but from that one pic, there does seem to be possible issues that could turn off some buyers. The Price seems a tad high IMO, as well.

yes expensive, and definetly would not do anything with cold steel they suck @$$ my oberland 01 would cut the rsk into pieces and as for the pics there is shadowing from the lighting and does make it look strange.. ok imagine holding play dough in your hand and sqeezing it then letting go. the play dough looks kinda funny and really not much of anything but when you put your hand back around the play doughin the same grip it feels perfect and very comfortable. and as for a ball of sqeezed playdough that would look pretty damn ugly in a picture. point being does look funny and uncomfortable but was dsigned very well you need to try it to understand. DAMN IM RANTING AGAIN SORRY......

Tidents are a bit pricey. I like the designs and I'm not concerned about hot spots on a knife like that but that price is definitely high. Seeing as it's their first folder, I'd wait for some reviews.

Are Trident knives going to be at Blade? I would like to see and handle that folder in person. It HAS piqued my interest.

Its Cool I Can Take It Im Sure Some One At Bf Loves Them..............................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................................sike
