I'm sure that this has been asked about a thousand times, but I can't find a solid date through the search function or through Google. I've been without an actual computer for a few weeks so I've been trying to keep up on my Ipod, but it's just not as good.

So does anyone have a realease date? A solid one? This wait is killing me inside.

Dang... May? Isn't the M4/G-10/Ti version supposed to be coming out about the same time?

Im on the list, "May" is as solid as I've heard. Wish I could help, I'll stay tuned myself.

Yeah, that sounds way off to me. I've heard around the new year is when it should be in, but no one is certain. It could arrive tomorrow, who knows.

I think the M4/Ti/G-10 version is what he is on the list for. The TiRIL Millie has apparently gone through at least one pilot run, so I'd expect to see it within the next two months, but that is pretty much guesswork on my part. Sal just said "soon", which could mean the CC pieces are waiting on the engraver.

The G10/Ti M4 steel Military is scheduled for May.

The all Ti Military will be earlier. (I think. I hope)

*edit - Yeah, what Yab said. :D

Last post I read by Sal on the Spyderco Forums (back in Nov.) was that they wanted to get more made up before they started shipping any out. As I've also read that production is only going to run 50-100 pieces a month perhaps they are wanting to release a few hundred initially instead of just a few?

I was really hoping to have mine by Christmas but I'm sure we'll all be pleased when ever they get here.

Yab, do you know if all those pilots stayed in-house or have some been sold (apart from the very special one Sal gave you, of course)?

As far as I know, mine is the only one that has been released into the wild.

TazKristi posted back in the early Leafstorm days that pilot run sales would be through the SFO only and would be announced on the factory forum. I'm on the board there every day and I haven't seen any such announcement on a TiRIL Military pilot run sale.

I heard what Badhammer heard as well, that they had a bunch in Golden and were waiting on more before releasing them. Considering the capacity is 50-100/month, there are probably around 100 collectors, and there might have been a pilot run as well as yablanowiz said, they might not have any on hand anymore for all we know. On the other hand, if they have a lot on hand they are likely to be released any day now, as soon as the collectors get theirs. If memory serves, the Leafstorm was released almost immediately following the pilot run. Same with the Manix 2, although that pilot run was pretty much all sold to Spyderco employees-something which might happen with the Military as well.

In any case, I'd say February at the latest, but I'm hoping for sooner rather than later (aren't we all?).

I just went ahead and ordered an Orange one. Sal had mentioned that the RIL and liner lock versions have nearly the same lock strength, so I went with G10, it will be lighter anyway.

FWIW, not even sure there ever will be a Pilot Run. IIRC, in the same thread you mention, Kristi noted that the "Pilot Run" concept is limited to new models made in Golden. So it will come down to whether Spyderco considers the Ti/RIL Military a new model or just another Military variant.

Vaguely recall hearing either Kristi or Sal mentioning Feb/March as the target a few months back.

I only call it that because that's what Sal referred to it as in the letter that accompanied the knife. ;)

Understood. I should have said "FWIW, not even sure there ever will be a Pilot Run offered for sale." Am sure there are usually pilot pieces of every new model or variant.
