Any WORD on the "SpyderHawk" and/or "Large Native?"

I just read throught the "Harpy XL: Who's with me?" thread. Seems like that knife has a lot of adherents (possibly including me, after I read through it!).

I started the push for a large Native in my own thread "Who wants the "Native Chief?"

Sal seemed to be encouraged by all our interest in both these knives. (Each thread is running at five pages now.) He mentioned a run of 1200 serrated SpyderHawks, and talked of a possible "contest" for a name, etc. for the large Native.

However, his last post on the 'Hawk was on June 17th, and his last post in my Native thread was on July 6th.

Instead of kicking my own thread BTTT, I figured I'd enquire about both of these promising designs.

I'm positive any official word would be appreciated by more folks than just little old Spydielovin' me! :)

I too am still very interested in the Spyderhawk? (XL Harpy) I must have missed the Large Native thread, but will be checking it out.

I think I have developed an unwholesome relationship with the proposed large Native, aka Native Chief, Native Talent, Native Son, American Native et al.
I think about it way too much.
I have even put off buying a new 440V Native to complement my current GIN-1 Native, so that I'll have the money when the large Native comes out.

Man, I got it bad. :)

Anyway, I wonder how long it takes to develop a new design and bring it to the production stage.

I suspect I ought not hold my breath.

This brings up a question, though.

Since I started visiting this forum fairly regularly, about a month ago, I have noticed that some forumites seem to know an awful lot about new Spydercos.
I have gone to Spyderco's site to see if they had gotten their information from there but I didn't see anything.

So how do some folks seem to have so much early information about new designs?

After the show of ergo on the regular Native, I'm begging for a bigger version. The Native fits my hand very well as is. The only thin I'd demand on a bigger Native is to allow tip up along with tip down cause I can't reach for the thumb hole well on knifes beyond 3" tip up.

I was left with the impression that design and production will commence "some time soon". These things take time, I'm sure.

As for the SpyderHawk, the wait is trying my patience.
