Years ago, I was hanging around one of the local gift shops, and I saw a somewhat unusual Zippo lighter. The lighter in question seemed a bit larger than your standard zippo. It had very sharp corners (not rounded,) and the hinge was attached on the outside of the case. The finish was brushed chrome, or maybe stainless. All in all, it looked really cool. I haven't seen one like it since, despite extensive searching.

Can anyone tell me what I should be looking for?

I have one of these. Zippo made some of these in their original style. You hit the major points.....sharp edges and an exposed hinge. This is what the first Zippos looked like. I carried mine for a while and to be honest, it is no wonder they started rounding off of the corners. This thing bites hard in your pocket when you sit down.......shaaaaaaarp edges and pointy corners.

Without digging mine out...I believe that the year was '1932' Replica to commemorate some 50/75? years. Had one that accidentally went with a VW Scirocco (sp?) I sold. Still wish that I had'em both. Anywho...if that's it GET IT. I've seen 'em go on ebay for $140+!! ...on the other hand I've got a brand new in-the-box if you really really like'em! all the best.

Termite called it! 1932 replica. There's a few listed now on ebay. . . Damn, and I thought the $45 price tag on the one I saw was steep (this was probably 10-12 years ago.)

Thanks to all who replied!

I still have my "Original Replica" that was issued in 1982 to commemorate the 50th anniversary although I haven't smoked in 7 years.
