Hey guys . Just wondering how many of yall have made your kids or grandkids a swing set a swing or other kind of little play ground type thing yourself?

We moved recently and the house has a huge backyard ,fenced in all that good stuff. Old owners put in a nice tree house equipped with a tin roof ,real windows and screen etc.

Thinking of adding a slide or maybe building a swingset onto or off of the tree house snd looking for inspiration. We also have an in ground pool. The kid in me is wanting to do something from the tree house into the pool. Wheither it be a zip line ,swing something . If you've got pics of your setup built or bought post them. Looking for inspiration here.

I lost interest in them as a kid when I watched a close friend break both legs coming off one. He was in a wheelchair for months.

So give some thought to how much momentum a kid can build up and what they'll land on if they jump off at full swing. Because kids are dumb and they'll probably try. :)

Thanks for that. Right now she's too young to do anything except for a slide and a swing ,just want to take advantage of my backyard you know.

Right now shell be in a swing she can't jump out off. Wife just told me she wants to buy one fo those wood monkey bar slide type deals at Lowe's and home Depot . I told her no way I'll build it vs buying one of those at that price

I've built several of the prefab units for customers. Scratch building is a viable alternative if you have experience in the construction trades and have the woodworking tools as well as skills. Otherwise, you are best off buying the prefab kit. Treehouse to pool? No way.
