Anybody but me still playing Diablo II, Lord Of Destruction?

For some reason, I'm still hopelessly addicted to this game, even though there are many games far more complex and graphicwise superior. Maybe it's the fact that I can't beat the game(on Hell difficulty); maybe it's several factors, I don't know. All I know is I can't stop playing it! :eek: :D

Something happened recently, that fueled my addiction to this game. I recently learned that you can make KILLER weapons and armor, by using these various runes that are dropped by monsters throughout the game. I knew that the runes, by themselves, would enhance socketed weapons and armor already. What I didn't realize, until my Brother sent me a detailed list, was that if you insert these runes into socketed weapons and armor in specific order, they create stuff that can only be described as awesome. So much for getting any yard or garden work done for the next few months. :)

If anybody is interested, I'll send you the link to the detailed list of possible rune created items.
 
I just picked this up again after a break. Got a sorc to 87 and I'm workin' on a pally. Found my first shako the other day :)
 
LOL you guys are killin me :P hey I was addicted to that game long enough ! Spent far too many hours leveling up my Barb... so do you play online or just by yourself ?
I played online only and only played hard core mode , my highest ever was a lvl 92 Necro but he died doing "hell" nihithak (sic).
A friend sent me the discs recently since mine we long broke and I tried to play it again but... meh..
I'm waiting patiently for NWN2

Yeah, it's hard to believe that somebody can play a game like this, since the time it first came out, and NOT know about the rune words, but it's true in my case.
 
I'd play, if the damn thing would work.
Haven't been able to connect to the proper realm at all (only the asian one I think). I have no idea why. Maybe I'll reinstall it and check if it works now. Really frustrating, especially as a new ladder had just begun as I was cut off.
 
My cuz still plays D2. I can't get away from NWN. They have a Pirates of the Sword Coast mod I bought online that's awesome.
 
NWN2 will be out in a few months ! woooot!! Of course it will be a while before all the mods get set up for it but it's worth the wait.
GFarrell3 if you play online , check out a very cool persistant world called The Nexus.
 
Any of you Diablo addicts wanna play online sometime, give me a shout. I have characters on both East and West coast servers. Going out of town this weekend, but I'll have my laptop(and D2 disc) with me. ;) :)
 
I played D2 for a good 2.5 years. Full member of the Amazon Basin guild (100% legit). Had some amazing equipment too. HAd some of the best character names too (Suzanne_Sommers, Martha_Stewart, etc). Then my account got hacked, I lost all of my stuff, and basically gave up on the game because I was sick of the jerks who couldn't play without using dupes and hacks. I honestly don't miss the game one bit, but I miss playing with some great people.
 
Sorry for taking this OT with the mention of NWN2 , since the two games are similiar though.. Some of my old D2 clan went to NWN after we got tired enough of the hacking and exploits on USwest.
