I'm thinking again about a new radio frequency scanner, besides the multiple trunking capability, I like in theory the dynamic memory allocation. (No fixed sized banks)

For a portable scanner the Uniden BCD396 if you need APCO 25. For the desktop the Uniden BCT-15 is really great but no APCO25 capability. Both are dynamic allocation for memory channels and both trunk as well. I have both and a BC250 which also has the APCO 25 card when it was a seperate option and they are all nice scanners. If you don't need handheld or APCO25 then I would highly recommend the BCT-15.

I bought an Icom R-20 (unblocked) from a guy in Japan on eBay. Ten banks of frequencies with 100 freqs in each bank. It has really fast scanning capabilities an even a recorder. I ordered the optional software so that I can program and enter frequencies with my computer.
