Anybody done the Oxiclean treatment?

I just did it to a ZT0550 about a week ago and I really like it. For those that don't know, you can darken the ti scales by soaking them in a mixture of just boiled water and Oxiclean for 30-45 minutes.
I want to try it on my large Insingo, but there's some trepidation. I'm wondering if I should cover the lockface with nail polish, maybe? Or if that's not at all necessary? Anybody have any experience with this? Pics of the finished product, maybe? (Yes, I searched. Couldn't find anything here or on Google.)
Not a CRK, but here's some pics of how my 0550 turned out.

Living in Europe I've never even heard of Oxiclean but I like how your ZT looks.

Take this as encouragement for trying the Sebenza

Damn, I've never heard of this "treatment". Looks like it works good:thumbup:

Did the chemicals like Dinatriumdarbonat and especial
Hydrogenperoxid of the Oxi Clean weaken the titan
on the lock side?

Best regards,
Andy

I have no idea. It's a thick slab, but it doesn't feel any weaker.
I figured it was just a surface oxidation. Like a uniform patina.
But if I were to state that as a fact I'd be talking out my @$$.
Should I assume that this is a bad idea for a Sebenza, then?

This is the result of light oxidation, if you were etching with some kind of acid then that will couse a problem, I did this treatment twice to my 25 and did not have any kind of negative effect as far as blade play, hope that helps.

Pics, man! Pics!
;)

I did one scale at the time to look at the difference once I was done, sorry for the crappy picture, that's all I have on my phone, but I think it proves the point as far as the color goes.
