I just bought a Boker Magnum Khucom for Amazon, Great feeling Knife, heavy, solid, full tang, kydex sheath. Didn't have much of an edge though, so I attempted to put one on it. It's 440 steel, I've done edges on a good number of 440 steel knives, but this one will not sharpen! I started out with my ceramic rod, no luck, barely made a scratch. So I went to a diamond sharpener, still could not get an even edge started. Broke out the stones, some areas took an edge, other parts of the blade were like Ti coated tool steel! I broke out the old Lansky sharpening system I hadn't used in years, No use.
Has anyone else had this problem? Seems like parts of the blade accepted heat treat too well, while other parts were soft as clay. I think I may have to send this one out to a professional sharpener, first time ever I have had to do this.
If I can get a "GOOD" edge on it, I think I will have a new favorite knife.
