Anybody else have a knife you love even though it has nothing you like in a knife?

Here's mine. It's a 1978 National Knife Collectors Association knife, "produced by Schrade under the names Rogers and Wostenholm in England".

I like a clip main blade, and in a multi-blade I like one straight-edged blade. I like the maximum blade in the minimum handle, for a light and unobtrusive carry. (This is heavier than a barlow.) It also keeps egesting buffer fluff and grit.

I probably wouldn't have bought it if it hadn't been 20% off, or if it hadn't had the English names on it. It sharpened up nicely and I just keep carrying it, even though it ticks none of the boxes for me.

I normally don't like two blade jack knives because they generally are too thick for my liking. Also, I generally hate clip blades with a passion. With that being said, I love the GEC 22. I now have two of them, and they are my go-to work carry knife.

Nice. I like the #22's and have been wanting to pull the trigger on one for a while, but every time I'm close, something else catches my eye and funds get diverted. I'm like a ferret. Easily distracted with a slight movement elsewhere. :D

I don't think this quote applied to me very often until I started doing this knife thing in Jan 2014. Far more emotion-based decisions in the past 16 months than in the previous 62 years!:eek::confused:

For example, I don't really care for the blade shape of the knife below, I prefer 2 or more blades, I'm not really a shadow pattern kind of guy, but I carry and use it a lot. (It does have significant sentimental value though, which I guess lends evidence to Frank's quote.)

I'm in the same boat with GT I guess on the Case Sod Buster Jr. I don't usually prefer single-blade knives but when I do I like a clip blade with a good point to it. And don't like the skinner blade shape in general, and I prefer bolsters on a bone handled knife. But I picked up one of the SB Jrs anyway and found that even though it otherwise doesn't fit any of my preferences, I like carrying it and liked it enough to get another one in a different handle and steel choice. They carry nice and flat and cut well.

Ferrets are awesome pets, I had several growing up!! Don't hesitate on the 22, you won't be disappointed:)

My most carried knife is a 33 Conductor. It has brass liners and stag covers, with the dreaded "green haze" of verdigris that has appeared around the liners and pins over the years. It also has cam tangs and a bail, not really in my wheelhouse. But it is my favorite knife, go figure!

Case medium jack in black delrin and stainless steel blades.

On a traditional knife/slipjoint I prefer natural handle materials like jigged bone, stag, or wood.
Nothing against stainless, but I generally prefer carbon steel - especially with Case CV over their stainless.

But for whatever reason I really love this little jack knife. It's sort of become a lucky charm for me too.

Thanks for the replies and the pictures of lovable knives. I didn't think I could be alone in this.
