I was wondering in anybody else here enjoys my favorite magazine as much as I do. I've subscribed to Charlie Richie's Backwoodsman for several years, and I go back and reread them again sometimes. It's not printed on slick paper, or proof read by professionals, and its articles are all written by "amateurs," but that's part of why I enjoy it I think. And, yes, knives are a frequent topic in it.

i LOVE that mag! i dont have a subscription but i read over it any time i see it on the shelves, i realy should het a subscription

Just started my subscription this year. My favorite mag. A true wealth of info every month on each page.

I meant each issue, not monthly...for some reason I can edit my post, but it won't save:mad:

A friend of mine showed me his copy, that was back in 2002, and I've had a sub ever since. Sent off a three year sub earlier this year, and I have a hard time not buying a copy at the book store.

This past issue, I will have Dan Schectman to fault for my wanting a Dozier Wilderness knife ;).

I'm not a subscriber, but I have enjoyed every issue I've read.

Alot of cool stuff in there. Like the old coffee can cook pot, and cooking in a brown paper bag. I know alot of people knew about that but it was new to me and I enjoy reading alot of the wisdom and simple ways of doing things that is in that magazine. I get the magazine everytime I go to the newstand because that is the only place I can find it.

Good for you! I've watched Backwoodsman evolve to have a slick cover with more and better quality pages over the nearly ten years that I've been reading it. A friend of mine once picked up a copy at a magazine stand in the Miami airport to while away the time as he waited to catch a plane home. Then later he passed it on to me and I've been hooked ever since. I started subscribing almost immediately, and I've ordered some of the back issues that I had missed, too. If there ever was a "people's magazine," this is it. The writers barter their talents for extensions of their own subscriptions. As far as I know, none of them are paid. Backwoodsman magazine is easy to find online, and if any of you reading this want to try a copy you can give them a call and have them send you the current issue for five bucks.
