Anybody else running slow?

I can't seem to sell a knife for anything over the last couple of months. I've moved a few cheap ones, but everything good, I'm still holding on to. I've lowered prices by maybe 10%, which is as far as I am going to go for now. I sold a bunch of good ones in April and May at good prices.

Anybody else's business slow this time of year, or is it just me?

Yeah, it's been pretty slow the last couple months. It's been good in a way though. It's motivating me to work on orders, and not spec knives.

Jason,
There is always a flat spot for knife makers in general this time of year. People have spent their money on vacations and the like and now reality starts again with school for kids and work for most everyone else. I find that it opens up again in say, October Nov. Same with my sharpening work yet I really try to push that this time of year to bring in Da Money!

Hang in there.

Dude, very opposite in my neck of the woods... I chose that expression because of hunters. "Can you have it made by the start of gun-season..." Sell them down south!

I'm quite busy here, just finished four kitchen knives, two EDC's currently, then 6 steak knives. I have a 240mm gyuto due in November, a custom birthday surprise, so that one is on the back burner.

Guess I made it over the hump. Sold four cheapies and a good one since the original post, after not selling much through July and August.

For me it is down about 20% with the knife makers.
Fortunately there are a couple other niche markets who have been purchasing from me.
So I can't really say for sure if it is slow with the knife makers, or if the other guys are grabbing the good stuff first.
