Anybody else who loves the Alox Solo that much?

Greetings you all:)

For the past week I have been carrying my Alox Solo as my main SAK(or pocket knife that is) and I found out that I really don't need more in my daily life in combination with my Alox Classic.
I bought a Swiss Card 4 way screwdriver for on my key ring(the body of it is about as big as my thumbnail Carl :)) And I'm settled for most tasks that will come.

And then about that Solo. Man, a great cutting tool. Just one blade but one tank of a knife. Very (and I mean very) strong back spring and absolutely no play. And it feels that won't happen very soon either.
Maybe the only little drawback is the fact that the scales aren't totally flush with the back spring(sorry for being picky:o)
But I examined my other one back spring Alox Saks(Bantam and Secretary) and they all have the same hair of a gap between the scales and the back spring.

However, the blade is perfectly centered and again a great walk and talk:thumbup:

Soooooo, my minimalistic knife carry will be for the time being; Alox Solo RFP and Alox Classic on key ring.

Just wanted to share.

Thanks for reading

The alox solo is one of my main edc's.

Since age and arthritis has hit me, I took my old solo and a 1/2 round file, some 500 paper, some croucus cloth, and scotchbrite, and made it into an eaasy opener sort of sodbuster. I reshaped the handle so I could get a good pinch grip on the blade, and it's easy for older hands to open.

I love the Sherman tank build quality of this knife, not to mention the simple construction makes it easy to clean up after some messy fishing or camp KP duty.

I love the alox solo. I find I don't need the tools on the bigger saks as much as I just need to cut something at least once a day. My need of some kind of cutting tool overshadows my tool needs.

I'm still going to try one of those swiss card tools, Arend.

I just bought one online.:D Do either of you guys have a spine shot of the blade by chance?

Edit: Is it possible to get one of those 4-way screwdrivers without buying the swisscard?

When I almost abandoned all SAKsanity last month and converted to a single blade slipjoint I was thinking about an easy-open modded Solo Alox. Pinch opening is what I love about my Sodbuster. Might still do it if I can handle one at a local gunshow to see if the handle will be just too thin. In any case, packing a Pioneer right now.

One of my favorite single-blade slipjoints:thumbup: - I really can't add anything that hasn't already been said. The only reason I stopped toting mine as much was that I decided that I prefer the Pioneer Settler just a little bit more.
