Anybody ever get buyers remorse?

My new military got here today. I originally ordered a g10 combo edge, but that order got canceled and I went crazy and bought a titanium model. Now that it's here I'm having a hard time enjoying it. I'm not a collector and I only like owning a few good knives because I like to use and carry everything I have. I'm having a hard time justifying the $200+ I just dropped on this knife. Its a nice knife, but I already had a pm2 and a pacific salt. Does this ever happen to any of you? You get a knife in and you think "why did I order this again?"

Btw, this has nothing to do with not liking the military. It has nothing to do with not being able to afford it. I'm just a frugal guy and a minimalist and now I'm questioning my decision.

You don't seem to have much of a problem selling knives down there. Peddle it and pick up something you will be more comfortable using. I've got a bunch of knives I'll likely never carry but I'm not frugal...at all  and don't mind having a few to just admire. I've got plenty of users though and who knows, maybe I'll change my priorities and eventually start carrying my safe queens.

Mmm, that's part of what's bothering me. I feel like I narrowed my market down pretty good with the price tag on this one. Whatever, I need to stop with the self flagellation and just go cut something. :)

Yeah, my Gayle Bradley.....I have no criticisms of the knife, just that....it just doesn't do it for me.

When a price is bugging me, I just like to think how insignificant the amount is in the grand scheme of things. A few years from now, or maybe even longer, whether or not you had that 200$ will probably not make a difference in your finances, but I'm sure the knife would have brought you much joy. Of course, if you do this daily then maybe it will hurt in the long run. :P

Nope. Most Spydies hold their value pretty well even if used (and not abused). If you don't want to keep it, sell it, trade it, mod it.

Sellers remorse on the other hand... :(

When I collected mostly custom folders, buyers remorse happened a lot! I guess that's another reason I love Spyderco, even the priciest Spydercos are still less than most custom folders. They just make good economic sense :D

I get buyers remorse on knives sometimes, but usually I end up liking the knife or can justify the price. i do not mind buying more expensive blades as long as I enjoy them and I still use my expensive knives. I usually research a knife quite a bit to make sure I will like it first, but I have had one or two experiences where I said, "I really should not have bought that or those."

Sometimes I do get remorse over a big purchase but it usually only lasts till the new knife gets here, I do lots of research and budgeting for my purchases so when I do order its not a impulse but, its something I really want so I'm usually just so excited to finally have it any concerns I have are alleviated by excitement.

Get rid of that Ti Millie and get a Southard. Heck, you could probably trade the Millie for a Southard and get some $ back. I'm pretty sure that you'd enjoy the Southard as it is a fantastic knife, one of the best Spyderco has ever produced. FWIW, once I got the Southard, I never had the urge to own another PM2 again!

I get sellers remorse, but usually not buyers....

I am by no means a rich person. I am actually on some difficult times but $200 for a knife like the Millie Ti is really not a large amount of money by todays economic standards. You really are getting alot of quality product for that $200 if you really thin about it you are being frugal. Do you go out to eat occasionally? what does dinner for 2 at a 1/2 way decent restaurant cost? maybe $50 or $75 if you have drinks right? what does cable TV/internet and phone service cost a month and what do you have to show for it ?
Peopledrop 300-500 bucks for the latest greatest phone and I cant understand it. Its just a toy. My $50 phone makes and receives phone calls . yet they do it without hesitation and then ask me how I could spend $200 on a knife or $150 for a flashlight . Its pretty funny.
what do you pay for a car nowadays? get the alloy rims and delux interior and your talking another $3000 but we pay these things without hesitation. Now look at that beautiful Ti Mille. Its gonna last you a lifetime. You will be able to pass it down to your son or grandson and it will be a treasured heirloom. It is a rugged hard use knife with premium components and steel that was heat treated correctly . It looks awesome and it functions just as well. Likemost Spyderco knifes form and function blend as one. Keep it in perspective and you wont have remorse.

Just keep it, use it, when is the next time you are going to drop $200 on a knife again? Probably not anytime soon at all or again, so keep the millie as a memory of that one time you spent a ludicrous amount of money on a knife, and of course get a lot of use out of it.

Thanks everyone. Good advice from all. You know the funny thing is, it's not really the money. It's more the idea that I am being excessive. I have a pacific salt, a dragonfly salt, and a pm2. I need and use all those knives for different reasons, but i pretty much had my bases covered with those. I got the Millie kind of on an impulse. What's really bothering me is the pacific salt and pm2 were already battling for pocket time. Now I've made it even more complicated! :). I swear, I'm being serious! I think that's what this is really about. I hate the idea of owning anything I don't need or use frequently, so I'm questioning if I'm going to be able to find a valid reason and use for the Millie. Whatever, if I don't I'll just pass it on to someone else.

I spent an hour or two re profiling and putting a hairsplitting edge on it last night...that made me feel a little better. ;)

I don't get buyers remorse, I get remorse that my wife will find out I was a buyer again.

I agree with the sentiments above. I have no problem spending money on an item that I can carry daily, enjoy and has a useful function. Therefore my watches, knives and pens bring me a great amount of joy to own, and more importantly, to use.

I always think of it this way, by saying that you won't use the knife, you're stating that the knife is too good for someone like you. Now Ringo, I don't think that a Ti Millie is too good for you, do you? Best test of time, carry it for a few days and if you don't like it swap or return it.

Best of luck!

I don't get buyers remorse, I get remorse that my wife will find out I was a buyer again.
Since I pay the bills, I play a shell game and do a little shuffle dance. When I'm busted I just say "I see you have another pair of shoes honey."
About remorse. It hasn't turned into remorse yet, but I'm disappointed that in my excitement to get a Cruwear, I didn't notice that it is right hand carry only. I may have opted out of buying one had I paid attention. So even though it's beautiful, I can't carry it and will probably store it with some others I'll never use. I'll get em out on my b-day and wish myself a happy birthday.

It is gift season, send it over my way ;)

Ive had buyers remorse on my.hogue because it came with an ugly coated blade with a ton of marking but it grew on me.

I say live with the Millie for a while before giving up on it. I've found that knives like that can grow on me with use. I was tepid towards the Southard at first, but find myself carrying it more and more these days. It's happened with other knives, as well.
