I want to buy an AR. I'm in no hurry, but I want to know that I am actually going to get one and a certain timetable. I don't want to get on a waiting list at a knife sight and not know if or when I'll actually get a knife. So, has anybody ever ordered direct from Strider. I e-mailed them direct and they said it could be done. But they left no information on how to go about it.

I ordered a SNG a couple months ago...talked to Mick a couple times and he switched me to Josh. Also have another on order but will be a while for that one. Just give Josh an email and tell him what you want, he will (eventually) get back to you.

I'm not a big fan of Strider knives, if only because their designs don't particularly appeal to me as a Randall/Al Mar collector...but I know Mick and Josh personally, and couldn't imagine a better bunch of guys to do business with...they are, 'right as rain', as the old adage goes...

(And, there isn't a damn thing wrong with Strider knives, nor do I imply such...they are, the best of what they are, with great people involved...just not our 'cup of tea'...nothing more)

So, pick up the phone, dial direct, and have a little fun..these are good guys, they'll hook you up in short order! :)

If you're interested in a Strider Knife, then pick up the phone and make the call...you won't be sorry you did, and the knives speak for themselves!

Call em . . . you'll get taken care of but don't expect it to be amazon.com . . . it is a knife shop run by some great guys who'll take care of you!

kutch133,

These guys are right, the Strider guys are a great bunch. Even just calling them up for some extra sheaths was no problem.

As for "production" items, don't sweat it too much, there's nearly always a retailer or dealer who will have one or two fo your desired piece(s) in-stock if you look hard enough and aren't shy about making a few calls. Similarly, the secondary market is also quite well populated with rapid trade in these highly sought-after blades.

For example, when I recently literally "needed" a GB, I just looked around a bit onl-line, and was able to bookmark two *_reputable_* retailers claiming available stock of at least one piece each, another dealer with stock, and even two or three on the secondary market. A call to my usual favorite retailer turned up one which they've even yet to add to their website.

A similar situation presented to another fellow Suspect/Striderite who was searching for an AR under that very same time-pressure.
