Anybody familiar with this knife? Shun VG-10 Paring

Has anybody used this knife before? I can't find it on Shun's website, and the description says that this is a VG10 blade, RH 61.

For $40, this seems like a helluva deal. Anybody used this knife?

I've had same, except with a pakkawood handle. Pretty good knife and for 40$ it's a good deal IMHO.

The blade steel is very good and easy to maintain. I had a wood one as well. The ergos are quite comfy. One negative may be the stainless handle though. Similar to globals, some love them, and some not so much. They are slippery when wet, compared to a wood/composite/resin handle. For 40 you can't go wrong and can trade sell it off if you dislike it.

I think Shun discontinued the steel handled line a year or two ago... that parer is prolly new old stock.

Have the Classic bread knife in that series and was heavily discounted.
Very nice knife, great price.

Those Shun parers are highly thought of on kitchen knife forums.
Go for it.
