Merry Christmas!

So, anyone care to share if they got any Victorinoxes or Wengers or similar Swiss Army style knives? Or Multitools? Multiple Multitools?:) Impressions? Didya like what you got?
I didn't get any:grumpy: , but that's cause I don't wait for Christmas to get the models I like:p

I treated myself to a Vic Soldier with the ALOX handles. At least I think that's what they are called, the metal handles. I really like the way they feel. I can see what it's a favorite among many SAK enthusiasts.

I have a Vic Swiss Tool Spirit on the way from Amazon for $30.99 or whatever the deal was, but I already have one. I just thought I'd have a spare so I wouldn't be afraid to use one hard and keep one nice.

I got a Swisstool X. The wire cutters came in very handy cutting all the zip ties and wire bindings that secure kid's toys to the packaging. It super well-made but i'm not sure how well I like the file on it. It seems a bit too smooth for a file.

hey, i got this and a jet li movie

edit: i also gave my brother in law (who coincidentally got this for me) a spring loaded gerber multitool with the bit set and the nylon belt sheath. i liked it so much i was plannin on gettin myself a leatherman kick, i'm gettin that instead.

A red Vic Farmer. It's beautiful and it feels good just turning it around in your hand. Very substantial. I really like this knife.

My sis got me the new leatherman wave. I had been hemming and hawing between the new wave and the charge, but she (and my wife) made that decision for me. :)

My old original wave needs some repair. Nearly ten years of use has it pretty rickety, that and my high school gf got it for me, so it's got her name engraved on it. Kinda embarrassing.

Does anyone know if the bit kit can slide into the interior long pocket of the premium nylon wave case? They seem to imply that it does on the site, but it seems like it would be a tight fit.

edit...
By the way, I can't believe how much nicer the new wave is over the old. The action and lock/pushbutton release, bit drivers and such are so much nicer. I just can't see the charge being $40 better though, 154cm/titanium or not. Thoughts? My edc's are benchmade, either s30v or 154cm, so it's not like the leatherman is my main blade.

I got my son a Leatherman Charge Ti and he couldn't be happier.

Gave both of my technicians at work Leatherman Kick's.

My wife got me the black Charge Ti I've been wanting. However I just ordered the standard nylon sheath to replace the MOLLE sheath that comes with the tactical black Charge. The MOLLE sheath just doesn't lend itself well to EDC on a belt.

Because of having been a good boy for most of the year, I was gifted with a ST Spirit. Can't say I would have bought one for myself, as I have come to favor larger multitools, but it is an elegant piece and seems to be substantial for its size. I'll give it a good workout for the next few months and see how it works for me.

This is something of a first; a knife/tool-like gift that is actually useable. Knowing of my interest in them, friends and relatives occasionally present me with pocketable gadgets. Very seldom are they good quality or of any use to me, although I love the thoughfulness behind the gift. It makes me wonder, though, if my gifts to them are as appropriate as they seem ( I mean, who wouldn't want a solar powered fruitcake? ). But when receiving whatever, we all express surprise, pleasure and affirmation to each other, and that's what counts most.

NICE haul!

I'm new to posting here... I've been lurking for quite a while, though.

For Christmas, my sister got me an 84mm Victorinox Tinker.
The tool selection is great, and I love the size of it. I've been collecting knives for 15 years, and I have my fair share of Swiss Army Knives and multitools. I really like the smaller size of the 84mm line. This one fits in my pocket really well, and I can see it becoming a great general purpose EDC.

I didn't get any SAK's or multitools. I got a Becker Fixed Blade and a Buck 110. I gave several Leatherman tools- all recipients are pleased!

thanks, i can't find ANY info on the net about these things. from what i've heard the story is that these were only distributed to employees of wenger during the 100th anniversary. this was left behind in some guy's will, the recipient brought it to the states with him, passed it on to my brother in law's father, who gave it to his son to give to me. love the thing, think i'll get a new standard issue/soldier/pioneer for days i don't feel like carrying the OHT...it'll be my black tie knife.

Welcome, TheMikeofSteel, from another newb. Cool handle. I agree completely about the better portability of the 84mms. It's a tangible difference, as far as I'm concerned.

Thank you for the welcome, Ultraman.
I'm really enjoying the compact "small tinker". I'm surprised Victorinox doesn't offer more 84mm knives.

Was the Becker a BK7 or BK10 or similar knife? I've heard good things about them. I like my early model Fallkniven F1, but I like dreaming:D
