Anybody giving knives as Mother's Days gifts?

I said "Ma, do you want a Spyderco Native in PINK for mothersday?"

I got "Sigh, no Christopher"

:D

finch feeder this year.

got her a mini griptilian several years ago, and she still enjoys it. women she worked with thought it a terrible gift.

My Mom is a huge cry baby about anything to do with gifts. No matter what she gets she thinks it's just awful. Everybody hates to give her anything as she always finds fault. A knife would set her off on a rant and she'd be all hurt and pouting.

Mom is completely knife-illiterate, so it's not too likely.

Bless her, and everything, but I think the most she can do is tell the difference between pointy end and handle. :D

I wish I was getting one...a mini-griptilian or mini-barrage would make me very happy.

I'll probably end up having to buy them myself.

We have given our Mom a Carter kitchen cutlery knife the last few years. She absolutely loves them and uses them on a daily basis.

I got my mother in law a set of Fury Coppertail cooking knives. A 5" and 7" santoku'ish in a bamboo case. She likes to cook but has some 12 year old Walmart full serrated pieces of crap. She recently came to visit us and she was using my forged Italian knives that I got in Maniago and she couldn't believe the difference. The Furys aren't as nice as my Beltrames but I think she'll like them.

I got my mom a nice set of kitchen knives for her birthday last month. However, any folding knife, even a slipjoint, she thinks are kinda scary. 6" chef knife-OK. 3" folder-scary.

My mother's birthday is right after mother's day. I decided to get her a purple Delica FFG. When she asked what I got her, she was happy. :D

I actually got my mom a cut-resistant glove from Sur La Table for Mother's Day. I bought her a block set of Shun Classics for her birthday a few weeks ago and she promptly cut herself badly enough to need a trip to Urgent Care - ugh . . .

I gave my mom my first forged blade for mother's day/birthday (they're a few days apart). She loved it and has been showing it off quite a bit.
