The Ant and the Grasshopper

OLD VERSION: The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long,
building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the
summer away.

Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.The grasshopper has no food or
shelter, so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

MODERN VERSION: The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long,
building his house and laying up supplies for the winter.

The grasshopper thinks the ant is a fool and laughs and dances and plays the
summer away.

Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands
to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others
are cold and starving.

CBS, NBC, PBS, CNN, and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering
grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table
filled with food. America is stunned by the sharp contrast. How can this be,
that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer
so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and everybody cries
when they sing, "It's Not Easy Being Green."

Jesse Jackson stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the
news stations film the group singing, "We shall overcome." Jesse then has
the group kneel down to pray to God for the grasshopper's sake.

Nancy Pelosi & John Kerry exclaim in an interview with Larry King that the
ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and both call for an
immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his fair share.

Finally, the EEOC drafts the Economic Equity and Anti-Grasshopper Act
retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The ant is fined for failing to
hire a proportionate number of green bugs and, having nothing left to pay
his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the government.

Hillary gets her old law firm to represent the grasshopper in a defamation
suit against the ant, and the case is tried before a panel of federal judges
that Bill Clinton appointed from a list of single-parent welfare recipients.

The ant loses the case.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the
ant's food while the government house he is in, which just happens to be the
ant's old house, crumbles around him because he doesn't maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow. The grasshopper is found dead in a drug
related incident and the house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of
spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be careful how you vote.

heeeheee.... AMEN SKUNK! This is what happens when people vote with their "feelings"...

One of the great things about Capitalism is that you are free to succeed or to fail.... except some folks want to take away the failure part of the mixture, which unfortunately, also takes away the freedom to succeed for those who are hard working and talented. Um... its called socialism....

Me and Mrs Hammy are headin down to the Belterra Casino to see if I can win some more Blade $$$...

3 days of mindless existance....

In other words, warming up for Blade....

in keeping with the title:)

I wish that's what I was going to do! :D As it is, I need to stay off medical transport duty this weekend and finish up a special project...;)

I rented a house on Stinson Beach (20 miles north of San Francisco) for the weekend

I am going camping and fishing this weekend with a couple of mates. I dare say there will be plenty of chopping as we will have plenty of knives along.

Mine: Busse Skinny ASH, Bar River Fox River, Tramontina 16" machete.

Mate1: Busse ASH, various fishing knives.

Mate 2: Scrap Yard Scrapper 6 and Mora.

I will do my best to get plenty of pics.

I was planning on it today, but of course forgot that the Sister and Mom were coming to town. My nephew had a piano performance (he is 8). It lasted for 4.5 hours (lots of kids playing). Luckily I did not have to go. I baby sat the other nephew (4 years old). We spend all day at Cabelas, and Sportsman's warehouse. So that was time well spent.

I got three sleeping pads, a 5 piece cast iron set, and lantern for cooking. Then I got a pair of new sneaks.

We are going camping tomorrow and Saturday. Really looking forward to using the new gear (new tent, new camp stove, pads, lantern, cast iron cook set).

Not to mention that I have two pieces of Infi that have never been camping. FBMLE and the SS will have their first overnight. I will try to take pics, but the place we are going I don't think there will be too much to chop. Seems like the good camping areas are not open here yet (still too much snow) I will have to look tonight and see If I can't find a more infi-friendly place to camp with lots of stuff that needs to be cleared out.

Depends on if I live past tomorrow of course....I am going to this Burger place called chubby's where I an my bro-inlaw are going after a 3lb burger pattie plus a HUGE mound of extra's on it. We finished it before but didnt get the record(rediculous like 12min or something). If I dont go yack I am going camping and what not that afternoon into sunday! BRINGING SCOTCH!!!!

Yes, but now I have to keep him in drinks at Blade. It's going to wind up costing me just under a grand.

I sent him a short video of a girl in the kitchen, so he and I are all square.
