I was just curious if any members here were planning to go to the Hammer In that they're having Oct. 19-21 in Visalia? It's close to me so I was thinking about going down there. are these good events for people that haven't even begun yet to learn some stuff or are they geared more to people that already make knives and want to learn more?

I see also there will be a class where you build your own forge, it is 100 bucks and includes the materials. For somebody that wants to get into making knives would this be a good idea? I don't know how big or fancy a forge it will be but learning the construction could be worth the money?

Thanks.

If you are interested in knives.....GO.You will not be disapointed.Never been to the one in CA,but have been to a few in Texas and they are geared to knife nuts.If you don't know much you will learn alot,if you know alot you will learn something.
They are a blast.

Red and anyone else, I highly recommend going if you can. It's a lot of fun and you'll learn a ton of stuff.

I'll be there Saturday with my accountant.
