Anybody got a SOG Flash?

I don't have one, but have handled a few in the past. From what I remember, they compare nicely to the Kershaw speedsafe models, in both fit and finish, as well as speed of opening. I do like the fact that they have anodized aluminum handles, though. Makes for a tougher knife all around, I think.

Great knives for the price!

i ordered a flash 1 and man, i was dissapointed with the sheer smallness of it. i knew it was gonna be on the small side, but for someone with average size hands, it's just not comfortable to hold. if you drilled a hole through the handle you could put it on a keychain. it's that small. as far as the SAT, I now think it's unnessasary. there is a safety switch(also miniscule) that needs to be clicked over in order to engage the blade. sure enough, the blade flicks open with just a nudge, but i felt it would open in my pocket with the safety off. it's not solid either. i returned it. if you are into this flash series, then go with the bigger model. or better yet.. the mini x ray vision is one of the best working and best looking knives i've owned.

If you want a small knife with SAT you should have gone with the Blink. It fills my big monkey hand nicely and IMO has a more solid feel then the Flashes. It also looks much better in person than it does on website photos. It is awsome for the price.

I have a Flash II and I like it a lot. It has a low clip carry on it that sits in my front pocket so well that I have to keep checking to see if it is there. I have carried mine everyday for a month know with the safety off and have never had any indications that it could open accidently. That included jogging, banging around in the woods, and general every day use. Mine came shaving sharp and is still holding a good edge. I have large hands and it fits mine very well but I don't think it would be too large for someone with medium to small hands. Once opened, the lock is tight and I feel comfortable that it is safe. It is a big knife that carries like a small one and I don't think you will be disappointed. Good luck!
