Anybody got a SpeedySharp ??

I have one, they're very quick for sharpening. They scrape steel right off.

I haven't yet sharpened a knife with one, so I can't comment more than that.

Please don't tell me that it says "Peels the steel" right on the package

Unless it's a knife that you don't really care for I'd advise against using one.
It'll destroy the edge but make it slightly sharp.

One of those cheapie gerber ones with the coarse and fine ceramics would be better for something similar.Gerber Cheapie

I've seen the same things but under a different name down here is Oz and I wouldn't let one anywhere near my knives.

Completely useless IMHO. All they'll enable you to do is to stuff the edge on your knives.

As Neko said, a cheap but decent combi sharpening stone is way better than a 'speedysharp'.
